Industry/Application: Municipal - Seiku Corrections Facility - Water Lift Station Infrastructure
Description: Often in municipal water supply applications, there is a need to boost a stream of water from one elevation to another. This lift station at the Seiku Corrections Facility does exactly that. In an infrastructure and process application of this nature the electrical and control system includes a prime power source, a standby or emergency generator and transfer switch, Motor Control Centers (MCC’s) or motor starter panels, sensors and instrumentation, and a Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU).
Our role in this project involved upgrade of the electrical distribution portion of the system to allow for larger lift pumps. In addition, as the project progressed, we uncovered one or more electrical compliance issues that needed to be resolved to bring the system into compliance with current electrical codes and practices.
